Exciting opportunities exist for highly experienced and talented legal professionals to join the CSO’s extended leadership group to lead and manage a specialist legal practice within our Inquiries & Criminal Law Division.  From this recruitment we are looking to fill the following roles:

As a Director you will provide high level and authoritative legal advice on behalf of the Crown Solicitor in the areas of law in which the practice group specialises.  Your focus will be on provision of quality, timely and client-focused legal advice to and representation of NSW Government agencies.

Legal Support Manager

Classification: Clerk Grade 5/6

We are seeking motivated individuals who have exceptional people management skills and a demonstrated ability to provide direction and guidance to legal support staff.

As a Legal Support Manager you will be responsible for providing executive support to the Assistant Crown Solicitor and three Practice Group leaders in the administration and management of their specialist legal teams and the teams’ administrative staff to ensure that business objectives are met and that solicitors are fully supported in the delivery of legal services to clients.

Senior Solicitor

We are looking for experienced solicitors with have an interest in Torts Law.  Experience in civil negligence claims and health law would be highly regarded.

The Torts (Service/Regulatory) Law Practice Group undertakes all aspects of the defence and settlement of civil claims involving state agencies, including the conduct of litigation at first instance and at all stages of appeal. The practice group also acts for Government agencies in coronial inquests and inquiries, and for state wards in plaintiff actions, and is undertaking matters involving historical child abuse claims against the State of NSW.
