All work regarding native title and Aboriginal land rights matters including:
advising on issues relating to native title, and land claims under the ALRA, particularly in relation to commercial transactions and vestings between government agencies
advising and representing the State in native title claims under the Native Title Act 1993 (Cth) in the Federal Court and in mediations and negotiations
advising and representing the Crown Lands Minister in appeals from refusals of land claims made under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act 1983 ("ALRA")
arranging for historical tenure and other research to be carried out in respect of land or waters subject to a native title claim
advising the State about activities which might affect native title.
All work regarding property matters, including property litigation and transactions; and advice regarding Crown land, commercial, rural and residential property areas. This work includes land valuation litigation and a range of property transactional work including:
undertaking litigation involving property related matters, such as land valuation matters in the Land and Environment Court
complex advice on property transactions, including vesting of land between agencies
acquisitions of land, including compulsory acquisitions
disposal of land (including tenders)
leasing and licensing
planning and environmental law advice
advising on issues relating to Crown land, including the new Crown Lands Management Act 2016.
